The ASDAN Football Short course and Leadership Through Football course provide the perfect opportunity for young people to assist in the delivery of a wide range of sporting activities.

The ASDAN Football Short Course and 1st4Sport Leadership through Football awards provide the perfect opportunity for young people to gain both educational credits and to assist in the delivery of a wide range of sporting activities.

ASDAN Football Short Course
This course was developed by the awarding body, ASDAN, in conjunction with the club and has been designed to support the development of young people aged 12 – 16. It accredits up to 60 hours of football activities and leads on to further accredited courses.
 
The short course will ensure that all candidates will have a football specific knowledge and skills to assist them in developing their employability skills and personal effectiveness.

FA Leadership through Football course
The course is for young people between 14 and 19 years and who wants to increase their confidence, self-esteem and self-management. The qualifications aim to teach leadership skills through sports activities which may then lead to employment, further education or volunteering. The course is accredited by 1st4Sport.   

Watford Football Club was voted ‘Community Club of the Year’ in 2010 and 2008.

The club has run a number of projects for hundreds of local young people including the FA Level 1 Coaching Course and will be involved in the delivery of a new course for 2012, the FA Junior Football Leaders course.
