Football and Education Project Officer vacancy (Harrow) Published:30th April 2012 Football and Education Project Officer (Harrow) Watford FC’s award winning Community Sports and Education Trust are seeking to recruit a Football and Education Project Officer. This post presents an exciting opportunity to join our award winning team based at the new Cedars Youth and Community Centre in Harrow. Cedars is a new youth and community centre set to open in the coming weeks, facilities include a state of the art 4G astro turf football pitch, an indoor sports, a gym, an ICT learning suite, a cafe, a climbing wall and social spaces.
This role will be responsible for co-ordinating a 16-19 centre for football excellence scheme with another member of staff which is run in partnership with Whitmore High School. You will also be required to develop wider community provision in Harrow while contributing in ensuring the smooth delivery of activities at Cedars Youth & Community Centre.
You will have a proven track record of working with children and young people in a sport/football and education environment whilst demonstrating the ability to develop positive relationships with young people which will be crucial to the success of this role. You must also be willing to undertake appropriate training courses in order to maximise your skills and meet the demands of this role. You will also hold the FA Level 3 Coaching Certificate in Football or be working towards this coaching qualification.
In order to respond to and fulfil the demands of this role you will need to have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills, be able to work as part of a team whilst being innovative and creative in your thinking and planning.
Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work evenings and weekends. You will require a full, valid UK driving licence. This position will be offered on a permanent basis from 1st July 2012.
