The work the Trust undertakes varies from introductory sessions at grass roots level to performance coaching at our Player Development Centres.  No matter what the coaching session the emphasis is on fun and getting players to learn and develop skills in a positive and relaxed environment.  We believe that players will only learn if they are able to make decisions for themselves and have no external negative pressure placed on them.  In this way players are more likely to express themselves without the fear of making a mistake.  Of course as coaches we have a vital role to play in setting this environment and how we can help them to develop.

We are extremely keen to work with youth teams and other organisations working with young people who share this same ethos.

The Trust has a number of services/activities which may be of interest to you.  Some of these are detailed below;

Team Manager/Coach Workshops – Qualified coaches (many of whom also work at the Club’s Academy) are able to visit junior clubs to deliver ‘In service training’ style workshops.  These are practically based and good fun with participants actively involved in sessions.  We can cover a wide variety of themes (50 drills, attacking, passing, etc) or the workshop can be geared around your specific requirements.

Coach Education Programme – The Trust offers a number of courses aimed at individuals involved in the game at various levels.

Matchday Packages – Bring your team or whole club along for some coaching and then go on to see Watford FC first team play at Vicarage Road.  Ideal as a reward/treat at any point during the season.  Please refer to the ‘Matchday Package’ page under the Matchday Activities section of this website.

Holiday Courses – Why not run a holiday course with the Trust for players at your club? This could be based at your facilities or the Trust will organise a venue.  The Trust will run the course from start to finish.

Hire the Trust’s Inflatable speed target – Why not hire this inflatable from the Trust for your summer six-a side tournaments or fundraising events?
