Football and Sport Project Officer

Salary: £17,000 - £21,000, fixed term contract – Two Years

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust (registered charity no: 1102239) is seeking to recruit a full time Football & Sports Project Officer (40 hours per week). This post presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and hard-working individual to join our team, based at Meriden Community Centre, Watford. 

 

This role will primarily be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the football development programme, including PL Kicks and Mini-Kicks, holiday courses, Harry’s Rising Stars associated with the artificial grass pitch. In addition the Officer will also work closely with the Centre Manager to maximise the use of the centre’s facilities to increase sports participation as well as wider community based activities which promote health and wellbeing and reporting to key funders.  The Officer will be part of a team that is responsible for providing a high quality service to the Trust’s customers and will work in partnership with clubs, schools, businesses, as well as community and voluntary groups to deliver positive outcomes.  The role will also include working on matchday activities and seasonal events, as and when required and some possible PL Primary Stars delivery to primary schools local to the centre.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

 

  • Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football and FA’s Youth Award Modules 1 & 2, or working towards.
  • Proven experience of organising and running football/sports projects and events.
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience of working with budgets.
  • Strong communication skills.

Healthy Lifestyles Project Officer

We are looking to recruit a full-time (40 hours per week) Project Officer whose role will be to manage, help deliver and evaluate the Trust’s Shape Up Men’s weight management project. 

The Officer will network with local and regional health services in the public, and voluntary sectors, as well as working with physical activity providers and sports clubs.

 

The Shape Up programme is an award-winning weight management service for obese men across the county and involves running 12 week weight management courses to 18-65 year old’s. In addition, the successful person will support the Trusts wider community activities and events.  This post presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and hard-working individual to join our team, based at Vicarage Road Stadium in Watford.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual with proven knowledge and experience.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • A degree or relevant qualification (in a related subject area).
  • Level 3 Personal trainer qualification
  • Level 3 Exercise referral certificate
  • A sound knowledge of healthy eating, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
  • Experience of delivering behaviour change interventions for adults.
  • Experience of promoting health or physical activity programmes.
  • An ability to engage, motivate, inspire and mentor people toward their goals
  • An ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a range of partners.
  • Experience of managing or supervising staff/volunteers.
  • Proven experience in an administration role and proficient IT skills.
  • Proven experience of managing budgets.
  • A full and valid UK Driving License as well as access to a vehicle.

Wellbeing Project Delivery Coordinator

(Salary £18,000 - £22,000)

We are looking to recruit a full-time (40 hours per week) Project Officer whose role will be to, deliver, and help manage and evaluate the Trust’s new mental health project.  The Officer will help coordinate a three-tiered project which includes mental health awareness sessions in primary and secondary schools across Watford and Hemel Hempstead. The school element will feed into a series of 12-week physical activity programs for 9- 14 years old and 18-25-year olds. The last element of the project focusses on a coach education scheme which aims to upskill football coaches across the county about mental health issues and how to refer into services. The aim of the project is to improve the lives of children and young adults experiencing mental health issues through physical activity and school-based learning.

 

The Officer will network with local mental health services in the public, and voluntary sectors, as well as working with schools, physical activity providers and sports clubs. In addition, the successful person will support the Trusts wider community activities and events.  This post presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and hard-working individual to join our team, based at Vicarage Road Stadium in Watford.

  • A sound knowledge of the common mental health issues and their link with physical activity
  • Experience of working with children or young people with functional mental health problems.
  • Experience of managing or supervising a team of staff or volunteers
  • An ability to engage, motivate, inspire and mentor people towards achieving their goals.
  • Proven experience in an administration role
  • Proven experience of delivering projects with Children and young people.
  • A full and valid UK Driving License as well as access to a vehicle.

50/50 Matchday Raffle Seller

Location: Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford, Herts
Position: Casual – every home matchday
Salary: Commission Based

Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust are currently recruiting sellers to join their Match day 50/50 Raffle Team. The successful candidate will be confident and outgoing and enjoy the challenge of selling to the public.

The role involves;

  • Selling 50/50 raffle tickets in and around Vicarage Road Stadium on a match day prior to kick off.
  • Sellers should arrive two hours prior to kick off, and finish once the game has kicked off.
  • Sellers are set a target number of tickets to sell, normally 150+ per match once you are an established seller.
  • Following kick-off, all takings and unsold tickets are handed back to the Team Supervisor to be totalled up.
  • Sellers earn an initial rate of £7.05 per hour (exclusive of holiday pay) with the opportunity to earn additional commission based on the number of tickets sold.
  • Additional incentives will be offered to sellers who regularly hit their target e.g. a ticket to the game.

Sellers will ideally be available to work all home games, however if you are unavailable you will need to notify the team supervisor at least one week before hand.

Applicants should ideally live local to Watford and be UK/EU residents or non-residents with a valid UK work permit. We will require proof of ID e.g. passport, should you be invited for a trial game and are successful. The minimum age for sellers is 16 years and Under 18s are required to complete a parental consent form.

Sessional Coach

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed coaches to join our team and help support and deliver an array of high quality provision across Hertfordshire and the London boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon including curriculum and after school sessions, holiday course and matchday events, girls and women’s specific projects and disability multi-sports activities.
 
The applicants will need have a flexible approach to work, with evening and weekend projects a possibility. This position is for a casual worker, with hours varying according to assignments.
 
Qualifications and Requirements
 
• A minimum FA Level 1 in Coaching Football working towards FA Level 2 in Coaching Football (we may at times look for assistant coaches with a minimum FA Level 1 in Coaching Football)
• Any other relevant National Governing Body (NGB) sport related certificates/qualifications
• Hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children Workshop and FA Emergency First Aid certificate
• Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle
• Ability to work during the school day, evening weekends and/or school holidays
• Willingness to learn and develop coaching skills
• Good communication and leadership skills
 
Preferred Skills
 
• Knowledge of planning and delivering high quality sessions within a safe learning environment
• Knowledge and experience to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge and experience of working/coaching within a school environment
• Knowledge and experience of working with grassroots level
