Summary of your role:
You will have responsibility for delivering Golden Memories and Extra Time programmes of the Trust’s Older Adults provision, supporting individuals living with dementia or memory loss issues and their carers.
This is a unique opportunity for someone possessing the dual skillsets of care and attention needed to make a difference to vulnerable adults, paired with strong project coordination capabilities required to lead an effective project.
You will collaborate with the Head of Health and Wellbeing to seek and gain funding opportunities to secure new health opportunities for the Trust.
Your key responsibilities, but not limited to:
- To deliver and manage the Trust’s Reminiscence project and offer for older adults.
- To be the Dementia specialist for the Trust and help and support other programmes where necessary.
- Work with partners and key stakeholders to deliver the Reminiscence project and Trust offer for older adults.
- Lead and deliver on the Reminiscence Project and Extra Time Project
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of programmes, liaising with partners throughout the lifetime of projects/initiatives (attending meetings, etc.).
- Build a referral network of key organisations and community groups working with target audience.
- Hold responsibility for the project budget, ensuring value for money is achieved and all incomes and expenditures are managed and reported to internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan, deliver and manage programmes, initiatives, and events to the highest possible standards.
- Recruit, train and deploy an appropriate workforce of staff and volunteers.
You Must Have:
- A full and valid UK Driving License as well as access to a vehicle
- Experience of working with people with dementia or memory loss and their carers
- Proven experience of working collaboratively with a range of partner organisations who specialize in dementia or memory loss.
- Proven experience of recruiting, managing or supervising staff and volunteers
- Proven experience of managing budgets.
- Knowledge of changes and developments within the areas of dementia a social care.
- Understand best practice physical activity delivery for older adults
- A passion to make a difference to the lives of older adults.
- An understanding of the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and be creative in your thinking and planning, applying attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly under pressure using planning and prioritisation to meet deadlines.
- Have a flexible approach to work. You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.
You would ideally have, but not vital:
- Level 2 qualification in Dementia Care
- Dementia awareness training
- Basic training in safe delivery of low impact seated exercise
- Good knowledge of the history and heritage of Watford football Club
- Other National Governing Body sports coaching qualifications.
- Experience of using IT systems to monitor and evaluate the delivery of projects and events.
- Knowledge of the Hertfordshire demographic and the specific and unique issues facing older people in Herts.
- Understanding of and a commitment to health and safety, equal opportunities and data protection policies and procedures.
