Beneficiaries from across Trust programmes recently enjoyed a special matchday experience at Vicarage Road, thanks to the generous support of Club partner and Trust headline sponsor, Skechers.
As part of the Trust’s Awareness Matchday, Skechers provided access to their newly renovated hospitality space – the Skechers Comfort Lounge – offering guests a memorable day at the football in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Located in the corner of the stadium between the Rookery and the Graham Taylor Stand, the Skechers Comfort Lounge has recently been refurbished to create a modern and comfortable space for matchday guests.
The Trust welcomed a range of beneficiaries to enjoy the experience, including participants from Golden Memories, Shape Up, and a volunteer from the FA Talent Hub. Each programme plays an important role in supporting the local community.
Golden Memories supports older adults living with dementia and social isolation, providing opportunities to connect, reminisce and stay active. Shape Up is a health and wellbeing programme designed to support individuals on their weight loss journey through physical activity and lifestyle changes. The FA Talent Hub offers young players who are deaf, have cerebral palsy, or are partially sighted additional opportunities to develop their skills in a supportive and structured environment.
Guests were welcomed on the day by Skechers’ Managing Director for the UK & Ireland, Richard Parker, who attended the fixture and met with the Trust’s Community Director, Rob Smith, highlighting the strength of the partnership and shared commitment to supporting the local community.
In addition to the matchday experience, Skechers also provided goody bags for the school teams taking part in the Joy of moving half-time penalty shoot-out, helping to make the occasion even more special for the young participants.
Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust continues to work closely with Skechers to create meaningful opportunities and experiences for people across Hertfordshire and Harrow, using the power of football to bring communities together.
