SpotlightonColin–OverallTrustChampion2026

If you arrive early at one of our Golden Memories sessions, there’s a good chance Colin is already there. Whatever the weather, he’s on hand with a smile, helping with car parking and setting the tone for a warm, welcoming day where participants can relax and enjoy themselves.

Colin’s commitment was especially clear during The Taylor Trek. While many were still arriving, Colin had already been volunteering since before 7am, supporting the event from start to finish.

After a long and demanding day, his dedication didn’t stop there. The very next day, he was back with the Golden Memories team – this time carrying homemade cakes he had baked the evening after the Trek, ready to be shared with participants and staff.

Whether appearing in character as Harry the Hornet, quietly supporting others, or simply bringing energy and kindness to every event, Colin consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of a volunteer.

Having previously won our Community Champion (Adult) in 2023, Colin’s reliability, generosity, and enthusiasm over many years, and many different projects, activities, and events, show without doubt that Colin has become a huge part of the Trust’s family. Truly a deserving Overall Trust Champion.
