As Hornets Pride Week continues, Watford FC and our Community, Sports and Education Trust are delighted to continue our support for Herts Pride into the 2025 event, which will be held in Cassiobury Park on Saturday August 30.
Allyship and friendship with all of the communities we support are the cornerstone of the work we do, and we’re already looking forward to the day and being part of the celebrations.
Herts Pride is a non-profit organisation run entirely and exclusively by volunteers in order to help support the local LGBTQ+ community.
The event takes place annually, and invites people of all races, faiths, genders, sexualities, and abilities, to join in and show their support for our local LGBTQ+ community and celebrate diversity in Hertfordshire.
The event features a wide range of exciting stalls, fabulous catering, a main stage with a diverse mix of entertaining acts, and their legendary dog show.
Along with our Proud Hornets supporters’ group, the club and Trust will be hosting the sports zone on the day, with a mix of games and prizes to be won.
To mark the announcement, we are launching a competition to design a poster for Herts Pride.
Five winning designs will be chosen by judges from Herts Pride and Watford FC and the designs will be turned into digital posters that will be displayed on the Herts Pride website and on electronic billboards across Watford, including our big screens at Vicarage Road and our social media channels.
Each winner will be given tickets for a Watford FC home match of their choice and the overall winner will also receive a Watford FC home shirt signed by players from our Men’s and Women’s teams.
Full information about the poster competition, as well as a page with a space to complete your design and fill in the relevant details, can be found HERE.
To enter, send your poster to wecampaign@watfordfc.com and include your name and contact details.
The closing date is Friday February 28 and winners will be notified by Friday March 14.
The club are also hosting a Launch Night for Herts Pride in the Sir Elton John suite at the stadium on Thursday February 13 to kick off the celebrations.

“We’re so pleased to be celebrating Hornets Pride Week by announcing our support for Herts Pride, for the third year in a row” said Watford FC’s EDI Lead, Dave Messenger.
“Our allyship for our friends at Herts Pride and the local LGBTQ+ community lasts across the whole year, but it’s particularly important for us celebrate that work leading up to Herts Pride.”
“As a proud Watfordian, it fills me with immense pride to see the incredible support from Watford Football Club and Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust for Herts Pride” said Tyson Martin, Chair of Herts Pride.
“Their sponsorship of the sports zone not only champions inclusion in sport but also strengthens the vital connections that bring our community together. Together, we create a space where everyone belongs.”
