Moussa Sissoko and Anna Filbey have been named as the Hornets’ Professional Footballers’ Association Community Champions for the 2024/25 season.
The duo have been recognised for their work supporting the Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust and the various community engagements they carried out over the course of the last campaign.
“The PFA has once again been immensely proud of the outstanding efforts of players this season and we feel they should be recognised for their support and involvement in the local community,” said PFA Chief Executive Maheta Molango.
“The award will hopefully raise awareness of the importance many of our members attach to their roles off the pitch and highlight their continued commitment to support those most in need along with engaging in areas where they have a personal interest.”
Sissoko’s engagements have included attending both an open day and question and answer session for the Junior Hornets.
The Frenchman also visited Watford General Hospital around Christmas, and attended a PL Primary Stars event at Parkside Community School.
Women’s player Filbey is an ambassador for West Herts Hospitals Charity and was on hand to open a wellbeing courtyard in May.
Her other work has included attending a Premier League Inspires event which took place at the Watford FC dome on the National Day for Girls and Women in Sport.
Congratulations, Moussa & Anna!
