Step Up, a unique opportunity to scale the height of the Empire State Building in the home of the Hornets, is set to take place on Saturday 1st June 2024, at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium. This exciting event aims to raise funds for Watford FC Trust and its neighbour, West Herts Hospitals Charity, the official charity for West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Participants are invited to run, walk, or climb their way up and down the stands of this 20,000 plus seater stadium. With chipped timing available, participants can set personal targets, compete with friends, or simply aim to complete the challenge.
Regardless of how it’s done, fundraising by participants will contribute to the health and wellbeing of thousands of local individuals, through Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust and West Herts Hospitals Charity.
Alison Rosen, CEO at West Herts Hospitals Charity, said:
“We’re thrilled to team up with Watford FC Trust for this exciting challenge event. Together, we can make a real difference in supporting West Herts NHS and the local community.”
Head of Health and Wellbeing at Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, Karen Stephanou, said:
“It’s great to be welcoming our fundraising challenge event Step Up back to Vicarage Road this June. With the partnerships with AMYA UK and fellow benefitting charity, West Herts Hospitals Charity, it promises to be another fantastic community event that will make a real difference to local lives.
With a number of our physical and mental health projects requiring urgent funding, including the ever-popular free adult weight management programme Shape Up, people’s support of Step Up is vital to our continued success.”
This event, supported by AMYA UK – the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, promises a fun family-friendly experience, with two categories available: adults (18 years and over) and 6-18 year olds.
Saeed Nazir, Regional Youth Leader from AMYA Hertfordshire said:
“Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is delighted to team up with Watford FC Community Trust again and support West Herts Hospitals Charity towards a healthier community.”
