With only one week to go before the Dreams United: Stadium Sleepout, here’s a preview of what will be a night to remember and a cause to champion.
The sleepout in the Rookery Stand at Vicarage Road Stadium takes place from 6.30pm on Friday 1st March through to 7am on Saturday 2nd March. Before settling down for the night, the evening will see a host of light entertainment, speeches, and free meals included for everyone in attendance.
Hosted by Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust, this event sees a partnership between them and four fellow charities: One YMCA, Herts Young Homeless, New Hope, and DENS. These four organisations all provide a variety of accommodation and specialist support in Hertfordshire and are teaming up in their fight against homelessness and bringing attention to the detrimental impact that becoming homeless has on every aspect of an individual’s life.
The event seeking to raise awareness of the increasing number of people experiencing homelessness, and raise much-needed funds to support them, will be sponsored by Imagine; a local estate, letting, land, and new homes agent. Champion Sponsor Imagine are joined by Premier Sponsors Topgolf, Warner Bros., West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Watford FC’s official catering company Levy.
Imagine’s Group Managing Director, Mike Cole, said:
“While Imagine as a business helps clients looking to buy and rent property, we have always been acutely aware that not everyone is so fortunate. For that reason, the opportunity to support events that positively impact those less fortunate has been something we have regularly sought out.
The Dreams United Sleepout is going to have a very positive effect locally and Imagine are genuinely delighted to be part of this occasion.”
Adding to the event offerings, are Electric Umbrella – a charity that creates amazing live music experiences with learning disabled people – who will be bringing a smile to the face of the attendees with a live performance in the Rookery concourse. Finally, Rapid Relief will be providing a much-needed breakfast roll for attendees on Saturday morning.
Proceeds from this family-friendly event will be split evenly amongst the partaking charities. With over 230 people already registered for the Dreams United: Stadium Sleepout, there are not many places left given the 300 spaces capacity, so if you’d like to make a difference today and join the sleepout, sign up today before registration closes at midnight on Monday 26th March.
